October 5, 2013:
Visited the Columbia Bottoms Conservation Area just north of St. Louis off of Riverview Drive. This area is easy to get to and culminates in an overlook viewing the southern confluence of the Missouri River and the Mississippi. This area has trails and vast fields with minimal wooded areas. There is also a very nice boat ramp on the Missouri River. The area is well maintained and patrolled regularly by park personnel and each time I have been there it has not been crowded.
If you want to get a beautiful vista view of a sunset with no power lines this overlook is a great place to go as you can see the entire sky.
